Jemia brings over a decade of experience in education, program coordination and community engagement, with a strong background in project management, stakeholder engagement and partnership development.

Prior to joining the Honors College, Jemia worked as a program coordinator in the exercise science department at Arnold School of Public Health for eight years. In this role, she supported research aimed at understanding the causes of childhood obesity and identifying strategies to promote healthier outcomes for children and adolescents. Her contributions have led to the development of evidence-based approaches that strengthen public health programs, practices, and policies.

As a former educator and dedicated community advocate, Jemia has extensive experience managing complex projects, coordinating students and stakeholders, developing operational processes, collecting and managing data and building strong community partnerships. She is passionate about fostering meaningful connections, supporting student success and advancing initiatives that create a lasting impact in the communities served.

Jemia holds a bachelor of science in health and wellness from Winthrop University and a master of arts in physical education from the University of South Florida. She enjoys cheering on Dawn Staley and Gamecock Women’s Basketball, mentoring youth of all ages and spending time with her family.
